കേരള സർക്കാരിന്റെ പ്രധാന പരിപാടിയായ "വൃത്തി 2025 - ക്ലീൻ കേരള കോൺക്ലേവ്" ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയ മാലിന്യമുക്ത നവകേരളം അവാർഡ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്കൂളിന് (വഴുതക്കാട് കാർമൽ എച്ച്എസ്എസ്) ലഭിച്ചതിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിയായ സന്തോഷമുണ്ട്. വൃത്തിയുള്ളതും പരിസ്ഥിതി സൗഹൃദപരവുമായ അന്തരീക്ഷം നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള ഞങ്ങളുടെ അചഞ്ചലമായ പ്രതിബദ്ധതയ്ക്ക് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ അൺഎയ്ഡഡ് സ്കൂളുകളിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനം ലഭിച്ചു. സുസ്ഥിരവും ആരോഗ്യകരവുമായ ഒരു പഠന ഇടം വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുന്നതിൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെയും ജീവനക്കാരുടെയും മുഴുവൻ സ്കൂൾ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും കൂട്ടായ പരിശ്രമത്തിനുള്ള ഒരു തെളിവാണ് ഈ അഭിമാനകരമായ അംഗീകാരം.

Carmel Higher Secondary School Vazhuthacaudhas an authorised strength of 50 cadets. It is functioning under the guidance of 1 Kerala Girls Bn NCC.

We have successfully completed 30 regular parade sessions in this year. The parades were guided byS/O Jini Mathew, GCI's and PI Staff’s from the unit 1 Kerala Girls Battalion and conducted drill and theory classes.

Actively organized and participated in Environment Day activities, International Yoga Day celebrations, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives. Conducted a rally in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and attended an Anti-Narcotics Awareness Seminar.

Onam Charity Programme

As part of Onam celebrations, the NCC cadets of Carmel HSS Vazhuthacaud undertook a charity drive for the benefit of 65 mentally disabled inmates of Providence Home Orphanage, Killy, and Santhwana Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally Ill Men, Puthenthope.

The cadets interacted warmly with the inmates and presented cultural performances, helping them feel included and valued during the festive season. The celebration ensured that the spirit of Onam was shared with everyone, reinforcing the message of compassion and social responsibility. The cadets returned with a deep sense of joy, pride, and empathy, realizing the importance of caring for those around them.

NCC Day & Christmas Charity Drive

As part of NCC Day and Christmas Charity Drive, the NCC cadets of Carmel HSS Vazhuthacaud (JW) once again visited Providence Home Orphanage, Killy, and Santhwana Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, Puthenthope, extending support and goodwill to the inmates.

The cadets interacted with the residents, performed cultural programmes, and shared moments of happiness and togetherness. These social service activities instilled values of kindness, empathy, and responsibility among the cadets, leaving them enriched with a sense of fulfillment and pride.

Coastal Clean-Up Drive – Kovalam Beach

As part of Coastal Clean-Up Week, aimed at safeguarding oceans and waterways from pollution, the NCC unit organized a meaningful clean-up drive on 19th August 2025 at Kovalam Beach.

The initiative focused on removing plastic debris washed ashore, including plastic particles from a container that had fallen into the sea. The dedicated cadets worked shoulder to shoulder with Fire and Rescue Services and Civil Defence volunteers, demonstrating teamwork and environmental responsibility.

This programme emphasized not only cleanliness but also the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and preserving the future of our planet.

Visit to Elderly Inmates

As part of another outreach initiative, the cadets visited elderly inmates, sharing the respect, love, and care they deserve. The inmates expressed immense happiness on receiving new items and interacting with the young cadets. The visit helped inculcate values of respect, kindness, and compassion among the cadets, who returned with hearts filled with satisfaction and gratitude.

We are indebted and obliged to our Commanding Officer Col M S S Rao, GCI's and PI Staff's for their constant support and guidance from 1 Kerala Girls Battalion.
