The global spread of corona virus is continuing despite mitigation efforts. This virus has now shown its presence almost all the continents except Antarctica. Countries are ensuring their security by closing their borders. In front of covid-19 the world became stand still. First case of covid-19 was reported in Wuhan the capital of Hube province of China. Covid-19 is the first pandemic of this century. On the 11h March 2020 WHO declared covid-19 as a pandemic. Covid-19 has taken life of more than one lakh people in the world. It affected about 20 lakhs of people in the world. A wartime situation prevails. It takes about 14 days to that we can see the symptoms of covid-19. The word ‘Corona’ means ‘Crown’ because its shape is like a crown. Corona becomes severe in people of age greater than 60. it spreads through the exhudation from the affected person. Its common symptoms are persistent cough, fever, throat pain, breathing difficulty etc. This can be transmitted even before the symptoms are shown. Now the covid-19 cases are very high in the U.S. corona virus is an enemy that cannot be seen by our naked eyes. Now there is no effective medicine for this. The medicine hydroxychloroquin is used to treat these deadly disease. But it is not clinically proved. Social distancing is the best method for preventing the spreading of this disease. In India social distancing is not completely possible. It is because of the population density in India is very high. In slums like Dharavi in Mumbai it is impossible because people are living very close to each other in small huts. Another main threat is large number of labourers are staying in small houses. During the lockdown period people have to stay home. In order to prevent the spreading of this disease. People shouldn’t go to public places without valid reason. While going out people should wear masks. Face masks should be used very carefully. Otherwise this will cause the spreading of virus.Masks once used should be disposed very safely. Washing hands frequently with soap and water is best method for preventing the spread of corona virus. Soap will destroy the outer covering of this virus.Break the chain campaign for washing hands was a very big success. Doctors,Nurses and other health department staff working to take care of the patients should be given much importance their selfless service ensures safety for us. People should cooperate with them. Police personnels are also playing a vital role in the fight against corona virus. Kerala’s fight against corona virus is being appreciated by the whole world. A big Salute to Chief minister, Health minister and all other staff leading a fight against the virus.
