EGOTISTICAL HEARTS OF HUMANKIND The threats to environment has increased alarmingly over the years. We all owe duty and responsibility to make our earth a clean and safer place to live in for ourselves as well as for our next generations, but in the current situation we have disturbed its ecological balance. We are experimenting with it and over exploiting it. Environment is what sustains us , the quality of our life essentially depends on our surroundings.             On the name of increasing our standards of living, unknowingly we are on the way of hampering it further. Man has been polluting environment since fire was produced but, day by day its intensity is rising. In order to prevent this an environment protection act was passed by the parliament of India in 1986 in an attempt to protect and conserve the environment. It took place after the Bhopal gas leak where more than 2, 259 were dead. The greatest environmental tragedy of all was the London's killer fog which took the lives of around 12, 000 people.           All the bio elements are essential for our existence. But there is a huge crisis in the availability of the bio elements. Earth is known as a blue planet due to its availability of water(71%). In olden days it was an easy commodity.
