Quarantine Days
Diya and her brother Joel were sitting in the room. Their father reached there at that time. He just arrived from his office. Mother brought him a glass of water to drink.
Father asked Diya. “Give me the remote. Let me see what’s going on”.
Mother said. “Yes, I have heard there is a pandemic virus spreading in other countries. It has reached India too.”
Everybody heard from the television that the PrimeMinister announced a lockdown due to the pandemic virus, covid-19.
“Papa, what is lockdown? Joel eagerly asked.
“A lockdown is a preventive measure taken by the Government to prevent people to join together as there is the possibility of spreading of virus.”
Diya did not understand what is quarantine. Father explained.
“It is a state of isolation. A person with the symptoms of the virus has to be isolated from the family and live alone until he is healed.”
Then Joel asked another doubt. “Mom and Papa.......... we will not go anywhere in these days. Actually we all are quarantined. Am I correct?”
All of the family members laughed loudly hearing Joel’s statement.
