FOREST-LUNGS OF NATURE Environment is a gift of God. It is a great book that teach us a lot of things. We the human beings utilizes our environment for our sustenance in different ways.Forest can be defined as a large area dominated by trees consisting of a wide range of flora and fauna.Almost one-third of the earth's surface is covered by forest and it exists in dry,wet bitterly cold and hot climates.Forests are the lungs of the earth and its destruction can result in the end of the world.It is valid for reasons like controlling pollution,preventing soil erosion,cleaning the atmosphere by absorbing the gases providing home for several species and maintaining ecological balance.It's chief function include the sustenance of life,environmental protection and water conservation.It acts as a store house,provides livelihood and facilitate research.Over exploitation and deforestation can lead to desertification of lands,climate change,loss of habitat for millions of species,soil erosion,flooding and so on.Forest is being cleared on a large scale for construction and other economic activities. Now a days our planet earth is being polluted in different ways. Our air is polluted due to the emission of Carbondioxide, CO, CFC from Industries, vehicles, sprays etc. leads to ozone depletion. Water bodies are also being polluted due to the disposal of waste from houses, factories .Soil is also being polluted .In one way we are responsible for this type of pollution and we are responsible for the natural hazards.So friends lets join our hands to help our earth from pollution.
