CLEANLINESS Arun was the class leader of standard seven. Their teacher was very particular that everyone should attend the prayer in the morning and missing it would lead to punishment. One day Arun finds that a student did not attended the prayer. Arun asked Murali why did you skip the prayer? You know that our teacher is very strict about it, Before Murali could answer the teacher entered the class.The teacher asked Arun whether everyone attended the prayer meeting today. Arun told that except Murali all came for the prayer.Teacher asked Murali why he didn't attend the prayer.The whole class were eagerly waiting to see Murali being punished. All in the class except few, was jealous of Murali because he studied well, behaves well, speaks well. His handwriting is neat . He keeps his book neat. The teacher reminded Murali Teacher that who ever missed the prayer will be punished. Before giving the punishment she said that she would like to know why he stayed away. Murali told the teacher that he came to class on time and was going to go for prayer but then he noticed that the classroom was full of dust and paper waste. The whole place was dirty and unhygienic . He told the teacher, "you have told that cleanliness is next to Godliness". The one who was incharge of cleaning did not do his duty . So I cleaned the room and could not attend the prayer. Since you have taught us dignity of labour I volunteered to clean up . If I have done something wrong please pardon me sir I'm ready to accept any punishment give to me.Teacher told Murali that he have done a wonderful job. If everyone thinks and acts like you, our school will become famous and I'm proud to have you as my student and will not punish you. He was highly appreciated by the teacher who again points out Murali as a role modern to be copied by all the others.
