CHILD IS FATHER OF MAN The English poet, William Wordsworth, said in his poem, The Rainbow that^ Child is the father of man^.This means what the child is today will indicate what kind of man he will be in future.In the case of Wordsworth, his association with nature began when he was a child and remained with him till his death.  A child is a potential man.He deveolps most of his qualities during childhood which later get transformed into the personality of the grown up man.The future treeis there in the sprout, so is the future man in the child Childhood is the most critical and important part in a person’s development. The Jesuits used to believe that the first seven years of a person’s life are his most absorbing years. If the right seeds are sown in these seven years the harvest would be predetermined. Another line of thought is that today’s children will be the fathers of tomorrow’s men. What we inculcate in our children’s minds today will be passed onto the future generations.
