LIFE OF A DEAD

Prologue What a disastrous day! Right now, I have no other choice than to bid farewell to the ghosts and vampires and greet the disgusting water drinking humans.

(Few hours ago)

"NYKSHEZ VERONICA EZRA! " My mom shouted audible enough to wake all the street up. Quivers ran down my spine as I sat in my bed, rubbing my eyes. Why was she yelling so loud? What another way could be better than to wake up hearing your mom's disturbing sound? Sorry, yell?

I lazily strolled to the washroom to instantly scream at the reflection in front of me. The tangled pitch-black hair poking out in every direction, piercing violet eyes staring back at me. Let's just say, I'm an awful picture to witness right after my deep slumber.

I bathed within a few minutes and headed towards the wardrobe. Eventually settling for a Violet tank top with a black mini skirt and Violet leggings that has black stripes, and laced up violet ankle boots. Tada! Woah!! I look like an elegant vampire from a magazine. I took one more glimpse to admire the beauty that's reflected in the dirty mirror. Ugh, I should clean this mirror today! No backing off. I say to myself and sprint towards the kitchen. The view that's set in the ancient wooden table was mouth-blooding.

"Thanks, Mum." I thanked my mum but she doesn't budge.

"What?" I asked as she focused on the wall.

Oh, so that was the intention of her daybreak yell. Who in this entire universe will loathe the color white? Not me for sure. I've sketched a picture of a haunted cemetery (where we live), enthrallingly. But the problem was it was painted in white. Strange? You ask me. I simply proved that you could draw something dark by using vivid colors. Moreover, I'm just obsessed with white recently. While my dear mommy despises white! How cruel! She says that white is evil and it's the color of angels. Therefore, she asked me to paint in color black, which she describes as ecstatic and holy.

I stuffed the food in front of me within seconds and disappeared before my Mum could open her mouth. Smooth.

And that's how my NIGHT begins.

I hissed and two vultures flew to me, my ride to school, 'Mathemagics for Ghosts'. They were really faster than I assumed, I gave some savory worms in return as they dropped me at the school entrance. Let's repeat the typical 'boring' day once more.

I walked in to find ghosts and vampires babbling, haunting and pranking each other. They truly are living their life to the fullest, unlike me.

I stopped at my locker to meet my best friend Kiera, who was suspiciously quiet and anxious. I raised a brow as a question as she handed me a crinkled note. Eh? I thought to toss it away but Kiera stopped me and asked to read whatever is inside, and so I did.

Your restless nights are coming, be prepared for the worst. I am coming for you, Ezra.

~Human

Excuse me? Human? In this darn ghost's and vampire's province? No human can step afoot in our area. I'm certain that no one knows that we inhabit here, none will dare or be courageous enough to stand 20 feet away from our place, if they did know.

This is just a prank, like all the others that have been sent. Aren't they bored of this immature game? Who the hell thought that I would actually be afraid of water drinking human beings? I hate nothing more than mankind. Their blood tastes metallic and is nauseating than of birds. Mongoose blood is tastier than their's.

We made our way to mathemagic class, where we study about different portions, calculation and enchanting liquids. We laughed at our old, humpbacked witch aka Miss konjoyi who taught mathemagic before our new madam.

As we walked a bit more, I became observant of the atmosphere. Our laughs echoed through the narrow hall as all the others became mute. Soon, Kiera noticed it too. I glanced at the students who were all frightened and immobilized at their current spot. Everyone stared at us, while we stood there, perplexed. Strange.

And then I heard an ear-piercing growl. It came out of nowhere, scaring us. And another screech which resulted in echoes through the hall. Kiera and I shared a look and mentally counted to three and then we spun.

Oh. My. Wormy. sandwich. and. Blood. Latte!

I can't believe this! When will my misfortune end? Why am I always the victim of troubles? The problems like me too much, I suppose. Was I standing in front of the most evilest, dominant, vicious alpha, The Sataniroshy? He haven't been to our area for years. I've always heard stories about his cruelty, but never got the chance to experience one myself.

Oh my freaking werewolves!

"Hello gorgeous," Sataniroshy greeted. Wow! What a gentleman! His frightening blood-red eyes burnt hole onto my violet eyes. I felt my hand being squeezed, so I looked to my right where Kiera was standing, only to see that she's completely pale, her lips trembling and hair is slowly turning into white, which implied that she could pass out any moment. This is no good. She's purely innocent and the favorite person in the wrecked world. She doesn't deserve these.

"Don't worry, He won't abuse you. I . . . will protect you, no matter what . . . " I tried to assure her but it was unconvincing.

I gave her a tight smile while she was about to roll her eyes, but paused remembering its not right at the situation. Her red eyes replaced with fear, hand shivered, helplessly. I wasn't lying. I will protect even if it cost my life(or death). I have nothing to lose, except my dear pal. Fools think that, my body doesn't have the potential because I,m short. But my strength was enough to prove them wrong. I was able to win 99 fights with the strongest (they say) vampires and werewolves.

"Oh, did I hear someone say 'I will protect you'?" Sataniroshy asked mockingly, snapping out of my thoughts.

"Yes, you did," I retorted, dauntlessly, my eyes blazing.

"Hahaha! You little kids? Hahaha... then get ready little germs. " He laughed wickedly.

I know he's dominant than me but I am ready to combat. I would love to throw my awesome skills at someone as powerful as him. I'll not lose this opportunity.

"Are you sure? You'll get hurt. Please-" I interrupted Kiera before she could get any more sentimental.

"I'm sure and back off sister," I demanded and nodded my head to move back.

"Aaaaaaaahhh!!"

I cried out in pain when I felt something jab into my fair skin. I didn't predict that, but regained my courageous attitude back. It was obvious who did that, so I was about to fight back but then I felt a warm liquid splash over me. I tasted it because it was very tempting, I needed to know what that liquid was and that was my first instinct. Everything appeared so quick and then, Oh no!

Did I just.. Taste that liquid? Oh no. Holly Buffalo legs with tiger blood! Why am I so dumb?

This is a potion used only to fly a ghost to a place where humans dwelled. The only way to not get there was not to sip it. And as you can see, That was the only thing I did.

Urgh..this is so frustrating. This isn't nice. What did I do to myself! Please... Stop this. How? How can I dwell where I don't belong to? Where creepy humans resided? Where I won't be able to dine my favorite wormy sandwich with a frog skeleton latte? Oh please not now, not me! How can he betray me like this? I'll surely get my revenge back to this bastard. I have no other option than to bid farewell to the ghosts and vampires and greet the disgusting water drinking humans.

But before the darkness dimmed my vision, I managed to vouch my bosom friend, Kiera, smirking at me, clenching a glass jar on her left hand.
