"എസ്. സി. എസ്. ഹയർസെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂൾ തിരുവല്ല" എന്ന താളിന്റെ പതിപ്പുകൾ തമ്മിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം

                              1965 ൽ തിരുവല്ല എസ്. സി. എസ് ഹൈസ്കൂളിൽ പഠിക്കുവാൻ സാധിച്ചത് എന്റെ പിതാവ് കെ. സി. ജോർജ് ഉപദേശി പെരുംതുരുത്തി സി. എസ്. ഐ പള്ളിയുടെ ഇടവക ഉപദേശി ആയതിനാലാണ്.യൂഹാനോൻ മാർ തോമാ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്താ തിരുമേനിയുടെ കാലം. പുലാത്തീന്റെ  ചുറ്റിലുമുള്ള കൊച്ചു മാവുകൾ. സഭ ആസ്ഥാനം കണ്ട് ക്ലാസ്സിൽ പഠിക്കുവാൻ, ഫുട്ബോൾ, സ്പോർട്സ് രംഗത്തുള്ള താല്പര്യം ജനിക്കുവാൻ, സ്കൂൾ മുറിയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന സമൂഹത്തിൽ സാറിന്റെ ട്യൂഷൻ ക്ലാസ്സിൽ സിനിമ ഡയറക്ടർ ബ്ലെസിയുടെ സഹോദരൻ ബെന്നിയും, സെന്റ് ജോർജ് ബസ്സുകളുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ റെ മകൻ ജോർജും ചേർന്നുള്ള പഠനവും, കോശി സാറിന്റെ ബൈബിൾ സ്നേഹവും, ജുബ്ബ ധരിച്ച സ്കൂൾ ഹെഡ്മാസ്റ്റർ ചെറിയാൻ സാറിന്റെ പ്രൗഡിയും, ഉമ്മൻ തലവടി സാറിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സ്വാധീനവും, വാണീടുക മാതെ എസ്. സി. സെമിനാരി...... എന്ന സ്കൂൾ ഗാനവും, സർവ്വോപരി വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1 മണി മുതൽഉള്ള എസ്. സി. പള്ളിയിലെ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ മുൻപിൽ നിലത്തിരുന്ന് പാടിയതും പ്രാർഥിച്ചതും,  ബെനഡിക്ട്  അച്ചന്റെ ശിക്ഷ ഉച്ചയ്ക്കുള്ള ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്ന വാർത്തയായി വന്നതും, എന്റെ ജനജീവിതത്തിന് ആകമാനം ഒരു ഷേപ്പ് ചെയ്തെടുത്ത അതേ സ്കൂൾ ഗ്രൗണ്ടിലൂടെ എന്റെ സ്വന്തം എന്ന് ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന പാലക്കുന്നത്ത് ഡോക്ടർ ജോസഫ് മാർത്തോമ്മ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്തയുടെ ഭൗതിക ശരീരവും ആയുള്ള വിലാപയാത്ര യൂഹാനോൻ മാർത്തോമ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത മുതൽ ജോസഫ് മാർത്തോമ്മ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത വരെയുള്ള എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടം എസ്. സി കുന്നിന്റെ പുണ്യമായി ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. അവിടെ പഠിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ കുട്ടികൾക്കും അധ്യാപകർക്കും അനധ്യാപകർക്കും വിശേഷിച്ച് ഇപ്പോൾ ഹെഡ്മിസ്ട്രസ് ആയിരിക്കുന്ന ശ്രീമതി ഗീതാ  റ്റി ജോർജിനും എല്ലാവിധ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളും പ്രാർത്ഥനകളും ഞാൻ നേരുന്നു.  

                Fond memories of Abraham Koshy(soj) Son of Late Mercy teacher(saramma Abraham)and Late Professor Koshy Abraham. My mother was teacher at SCS High school over 2 decades. I had the honour of being the school leader(School leader was then called Prime minister of school). I was Captain of School foot ball team. Represented the School as a champion athlete in the inter school district athletic championships. Also was a member of school Basketball team. Enjoyed playing cricket at school grounds. Also has played abit of tennis old school tennis courts where Daddy and a few old boys then played . We had a lovely group of girls and boys in our class and Iam very glad that we still stay in touch. I will always cherish the guidance our Headmasters teachers gave us. SCS High School an esteemed institution will always remain in my mind with great fondness. I live in New Zealand .  My younger sister and brother were old students of this great institution. They live in United States of America.

                    ആദ്യ അഖിലേന്ത്യാ കാർഷിക  ശാസ്ത്ര പ്രദർശനം എസ് സി എസ് സ്‌കൂളിൽ നടന്നത് എന്നും ഓർമയിൽ നില്കും. സോഷ്യൽ സർവീസ് സോസൈറ്റി അംഗം എന്ന നിലയിൽ എക്സിബിഷൻ നഗറിലെ റിഫ്രഷ്മെന്റ്  സ്റ്റാളിൽ എന്നും പങ്കാളിയായിരുന്നു. അന്ന് പുതുമ ആയിരുന്ന മോഡേൺ ബേക്കറിയുടെ സ്റ്റാളും ചട്ണി സാൻഡ്വിച് ടുമാറ്റോ സാൻഡ്വിച് ബോംബെ ടോസ്സ്റ്റ് ഒക്കെ ഏറെ ആസ്വാദ്യമായിരുന്നു. നിരവധി വിജ്ഞാന പ്രദമായ അറിവുകൾ നൽകുന്ന ഐ എസ് ആർ ഓ, കെ എസ് ആർ ടീ സി, സ്റ്റാളുകൾ, ദിവസേന വൈകുന്നേരം ഉള്ള കലാ പരിപാടികൾ കലാനിലയം സ്ഥിരം നാടക വേദി എല്ലാം ഓർമകളിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുന്നു.

                        എസ്. സി.എസ് സ്കൂളിൽ 7 വർഷം നീണ്ടുനിന്നഎന്റെ പഠന കാലഘട്ടം ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷമുള്ള നിമിഷങ്ങൾ ആയിരുന്നു. എന്റെ കഴിവുകളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ ആയി എന്നും ഈ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട വിദ്യാലയം അശ്രാന്തം പരിശ്രമിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ എന്തായി തീരണം എന്ന് നിർണ്ണയിക്കുവാൻ ഈ സ്കൂളും അധ്യാപകരും  എന്നും ഒരു പ്രചോദനമായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നും ഓരോ വേദികളിൽ ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ എന്റെ ആശയങ്ങൾ പങ്കു വയ്ക്കുവാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നതും പാഠ്യപാഠ്യേതര മേഖലകളിൽ എന്റെതായ ഒരു ഇടം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനും എസ്. സി. എസ് വഹിച്ച പങ്ക് വാക്കുകളിൽ ഒതുക്കാൻ ആവുന്നതല്ല. ആ വിദ്യാലയത്തിലെ ക്ലാസ് മുറികളിൽ ചെലവഴിച്ച ഓരോ ദിനവും എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ സുവർണ്ണ കാലഘട്ടമായിരുന്നു. എന്നെപ്പോലെയുള്ള ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് വിദ്യാർഥികളെ സ്വപ്നം കാണുവാൻ ധൈര്യം തന്ന എസ്. സി. എസും അവിടെയുള്ള വന്ദ്യ ഗുരുക്കന്മാരും ഇനിയും കൂടുതൽ ജീവിതങ്ങളിൽ പ്രകാശം പരത്തട്ടെ. സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെയും സേവനത്തിന്റെയും പാഠങ്ങളുമായി ഇനിയുമൊരു ഒരുപാട് ജീവിതങ്ങൾ ഈ സരസ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പടികൾ ഇറങ്ങട്ടെ.എല്ലാവിധ ആശംസകളും.

                          I am Prof. Kurien John, former Principal of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla. The reminiscences and memories, I have about my school days(1966-1972), in S.C. Seminary High School, needs pages. My deep relationship with the school begins with my ancestral days. My grandfather Vidwan.C Kurien,Mathilumkal house, and my mother Mrs. Annamma John were teachers of this temple of education. Human values, Social out look, Spiritual Vision and sportsmanship were inculcated in us by our great teacher's and classmates of the alma mater. Winning a few prizes in Malayalam Elocution  competition,being a member of the Basketball team, which won the interfering Championship,a member of the Scout Squad present vivid memories. We were fortunate to witness and participate as Volunteers in two All India Science and Agricultural Exhibitions organised by the School authorities. My 'Pranamam' to all my beloved teachers and classmates.

        Yes... I  am the village boy who joined SCS in 1967. I hail from the village  Pulincunno in Allleppy District.In those days there was not even a tarred road  in my village and a good school was not even in our dreams! Moving to Thiruvalla those days was like relocating to London ! In our  village  school,  I was one of the toppers  till 5th standard but slipped to rank 15+  at SCS  and was rated as  "some what satisfactory"  by my dearest teacher Ms. V V  Mariamma in  Class VI. That ranking definitely upset me, but I  took it as a chance to realise the reality and my need to work hard to regain my lost glory! My degrading by Mariamma teacher to just an avereage student and the  words of our great Headmaster Idiculla Sir on the day I left SCS in 1971; who looked at my mark sheet  and commented : "Cherian; if you aim for a distinction you may get at least  a first class" changed my life! There onwards I challenged myself and did not stop till my life prooved me that i was  a  reasonable success. I owe my life to my alma mater SC SEMINARY and its great faculty! When you at SCS,  God is beside you by default! Success is guranteed,  provided you do what you are supposed to!
