Generally the school is known as GWLPS MANJESHWAR. It is the short form of Govt. Welfare Lower Primary School Manjeshwar. The school has started functioning in an old building which was situated 300 Kilo meters away from Manjeshwar Police Station.This building was desroyed due to the storm, after some years.So the government has decided construct new building near the police station. The school has shifted to the new building ,after the completion of the work.The school new building was inaugurated by honorable former education minister U.A Beeran on 6.4.1978. It is the only one government kannada pre primary school in Kerala. (along with LP school)The pre primary section was started on 17.12.1984. Rtd. Headmaster Mr.B.M Narayana was hardly struggled for the sanction of Pre Primary section.Alot of students studied in this institution. Many old students of this school were become Engineers ,Teachers, Bank employees, Political Leaders etc.
