On June 1, 1921, Shri. Unnikumaran Panicker's Management Iringalur Aided School started near Konthanari Church and became the GGUP School Pokkunnu. Sarvottamarao took over and ran the school. When it was upgraded to a Higher Elementary School in 1948, it started functioning on its present location. Sarvottamarao supervised the school.
