VALUE OF HONESTY In a village, there lived a poor farmer. He had a wife and three children. He borrowed a land for rent, from a rich man. For this he had taken loans from some banks. He had a lot of hope that he will be able to pay the loans once the harvest season begins. But all of a sudden drought destroyed his hopes. At the same time, his wife became sick. For her treatment, he needed a lot of money. He became helpless. He asked everyone, but no one helped him. One day he got a box from the street, it was full of gold. His honesty made him to ask everyone, 'whose box is this?'. One of his neighbours told him to sell it and treat his wife. But he didn't agree with it. Later one man said that it was the King's lost box. The farmer gave the box to the king. The king was surprised on seeing the farmer's honesty and gave him gold and a lot of money. He treated his wife and paid back all his loans. ANUVIND.
