       ANIMAL WELFARE CLUB'
     The Government U P School Koothattukulam established in 1914 has attained already public recognition and trust with its overall activities. Theschool has 818 students as its strength at present. For the physical and accademical development of the school teachers,parents and society are working harmoniously. We are focusing not only the reading andcreativeskills of pupil but also the activities meant for devloping their values and atttitudes. With this aim we introdused a new programme “Animal Welfare Club” in 2018 – 2019 .The “Animal Welfare Club” was formed in Govt. U P School Koothattukulam under the guidance of Animal Husbandry Department of Kerala. It comprises students, teachers, non teaching staff and staff ofVeterinary hospital. The main objective of the club was to create passion among students and through them to public towards animals and to inculcate a culture of animal welfare among them. The club has 62 members with Alan Binu of Std.7 B as President and Akarsh Deepu of Std.6 B as vice president. The club is conducting monthly meetings and awareness classes for its members under the leadership of Dr.Eapen John Senior Vet. Surgen Koothattukulam and Smt.Valsala Devi (HM GUPS Koothattukulam). Through this activity our children has attained the habit of treating their fellow creatures with love and empathy. They became successful in sharing this attitude to the society through different activities.
