Director Aashiq Abu’s “Virus” is based on the Nipah virus outbreak . that teated big panic especially in the malabar region of Kerala in 2018.
It is also a great episode of our unity.lt auto show about how keralites came together as one to fight the unfortunate situation.
As the story begin , the news of the virus outbreak comes in as a shock for the hospitals and the authority and the situation becomes serious.
There have been only few cases of Nipah outbreak across the world and they are no medicines that can cure the infection easily . This leads to a great amount of confusion initially.The team headed by State health minister CK Prameela, District collector Paul K. Abraham, Director of Health Services Dr.Smrithi and a group of medical personnel take over the mission.
Scientist Dr. Suresh Rajan of the Virology Institute and Scientific expert Ann helps the team in identifying the cause and planning the course of action.
It is a star studded film , with well known names doing character some of which are brief roles Rima Vallingal plays siter Akhila, the character is inspired from a nurse in the hospital , sister him, who got infected with the virus and passed away later. Her memory remains painful in the mind of every Keralite
