ESSAY-Knowing the world of Corona Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered Corona virus. Most people infected with covid19 virus will experience mild to moderate respitratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardio vascular disease, diabetes, and cancer are likely to develop serious illness. How can we prevent it? The best way to prevent and slow down the transmission is to be well informed about the covid19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands and using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face frequently. Maintain atleast one meter distance between yourself and anyone who is puffing or sneezing. When someone caughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose and mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close you can breath in the droplets including the covid19 virus if the person coughing has the disease. How is it transmitted? The covid19 spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when the infected person coughs or sneezes. So it isimportant that you also practice respiratory etiquette, for example, you may cough into fixed elbow.There are no specific vaccines or treatments for covid 19. However there are many ongoing clinical trails evaluating potential treatments. WHO will continue to provide updated information as soon as clinical findings become available. How to be aware of this Pandemic. The outbreak of Corona virus disease has created the global health crisis that has had deep impact on the way we perceive the world and our everyday lives. Not only the rate of contagion and pattern of transmission threatens our sense of agencies but the safety measures put in place to contain the spread of virus. It also requires social distancing by refraining from doing what is inherently human. At this alarming juncture, media has got a social responsibility,which is mostly well performe- d. But it is totally disheartening to see the fake messages that are spreading in social media. Let us take this period to show our dedication to our nation, and to the whole world.
