Manjeshwar is a small town in the Kasaragod district of northern Kerala, India. The town is located on the southern banks of the Manjeswaram River, and is known for its temples, beaches, and memorial to a Kannada poet:

Srimath Anantheshwar Temple

  • Srimath Anantheshwar Temple Also known as "Manjula Kshetra" and "The temple of 18 towns", this temple is considered to be the oldest temple of the Gowda Saraswat Brahmins (GSB) community. The temple's history dates back to the 8th century AD, and the main sanctum contains images of Shiva, Lord Narasimha (Anantheshwar), and Subramanya. The temple was last renovated between 1799 and 1804 after being demolished by a ruler.

Kanwatheertha Beach

  • Kanwatheertha Beach A popular beach with tourists, this beach was formed when the sea settled into a formation that resembles a swimming pool.


Memorial to Sri Govind Pai

  • Memorial to Sri Govind Pai A memorial to the great Kannada poet Sri Govind Pai is also located in Manjeshwar.

Chathurmukha Basadi

  • Bhagavan 1008 Shri Parshvanatha Tirthankar Digambara Jaina Ancient Chathurmukha Basadi Situated in a small hill top, on Manjeshwar - Hosangadi road, inside high raised compound wall reminds of a fort. Idols of Sri Adinatha, Sri Chandranatha, Sri Shantinatha and Sri Vardhamana were faced in each direction. Basadi has doors in all  four directions so as the main compound.
