WORLD UNDER THE ATTACK OF CORONA VIRUS

Coronavirus disease (covid 19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose sinuses or upper throat. Most coronavirus aren't dangerous

Covid 19 is a disease that can cause what doctors   call a respiratory tract infection.  It can affect your upper respiratory tract (sinuses, nose and throat) or lower respiratory tract (wind pipe and lungs) it's caused by a coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2

SARS-COV-2 is one of seven types of coronavirus, including the one's that cause severe disease like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome and Sudden Acqute Respiratory Syndrome. The other coronavirus cause most of the colds that affect us during the year but aren't a serious threat for otherwise  healthy people

In early 2020, after a December 2019 outbreak in China, the world health organisation identified SARS-COV-2 as a new type of coronavirus. The outbreak quickly spread across the world

Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and cancer are more likely to develope serious illness

It spreads in the same way other coronavirus do, mainly through person to person contact.  Infections range from mild to serious.  This virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. So it's important that you practice respiratory etiquette.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is be well informed about the virus, the disease it cause and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face. There are no specific vaccines or treatment for covid 19. However there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.  WHO will continue to provide updated information as soon as clinical findings become available .

It's too soon to tell how long the pandemic will continue. It depends on many things, including researcher's work to learn more about the virus, their search for treatment, and the public's efforts to slow the spread.
