IMMUNITY Immunity is the balanced way of multi-cellular organisms to fight against infection disease and to avoid allergies and other illness. Immunity involves both specific and non specific component. The non specific components act as barrier against pathogens. The innate system in mammalians for example is composed of primitive bone marrow cells that are programmed to recognize foreign substances to react. The non reaction to self substances is described as immunity. Immunity is the ability of the body to defend from disease. Vaccination builds on the natural immune system to make a person resist certain diseases. People can be immunised from some disease by having a vaccination.
